Official opening for Corby centre

THERE was a full house at the Stuart Road Resource Centre in Corby on Monday when the Mayor, Councillor Mary Butcher, joined staff, local service users, carers, FT members and governors and representatives for partner agencies to mark the official opening of the newly refurbished building.

The Mayor unveiled a plaque and cut a celebration cake, specially designed and baked for the occasion. Staff at the centre put on displays and chatted to visitors about their work, and there was live music to entertain guests while they enjoyed their afternoon tea.

Stuart Road Resource Centre is the base for adult and older people’s community mental health services in Corby and the northeast of the county.

The building was refurbished last autumn to provide new consulting rooms and to create a beautiful new day hospital facility for older people in the Corby area who have mental health problems.  The centre also provides contraceptive and drug treatment clinics.
